Becomes third Constellis Group company certified
RESTON, Va. — Triple Canopy, a Constellis Group company and leading provider of security and support services worldwide, announced today that it has received its certification for Quality of Private Security Contractor Operations, known as ANSI/ASIS PSC.1-2012. With this certification, Triple Canopy becomes the third Constellis company to achieve this distinction, joining Olive Group and Edinburgh international.
The PSC.1 standard, which builds on the historic Montreux Document and the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Service Providers (ICoC), was developed by ASIS International, in conjunction with the American National Standards Institute, Inc. (ANSI), in order to establish auditable criteria for managing the quality of private security services and ensure respect for human rights and legal obligations “in conditions where governance and the rule of law have been undermined by conflict or disaster.”
Congress has required conformance to the PSC.1 standard for award of Department of Defense contracts for performing private security functions outside the United States.
Craig Nixon, chief executive officer of Constellis Group, commended the achievement, stating, “We are extremely proud of Triple Canopy for achieving this distinguished certification which has become an industry benchmark in the private security field. As a founding signatory to the ICoC and an active member of ASIS International’s Standards Committee during the development of PSC.1, Triple Canopy has demonstrated its long-standing commitment of adhering to, and living by, the principles of humanitarian law and human rights while operating in complex security environments.”
Triple Canopy is a member of the International Code of Conduct for Private Security Providers’ Association (ICoCA) and also serves on their board of directors.
“At Triple Canopy, we have and always will hold ourselves to the highest legal, moral and ethical standards. Respecting human rights and abiding by international humanitarian law are integral to our culture and core values,” said Mo Mulligan, president of Triple Canopy. “Achieving PSC.1 certification not only demonstrates our integrity and dedication to transparency, but also contributes to our broader goal of improving accountability among private security service providers worldwide.”
The certificate was issued by Intertek Certification Limited, accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to provide ANSI/ASIS PSC.1 certification. The certification is valid through July 23, 2018.
