Centerra, a Constellis company, named as member of Hanford Mission Integration Solutions (HMIS), LLC, on a multi-year contract for infrastructure and site services necessary to accomplish critical waste management and the continued environmental cleanup of the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Hanford Site.

Reston, VA. (January 14, 2020) — Constellis, a leading provider of essential risk management and mission support services to government and commercial customers worldwide, announced today that Centerra was awarded the Hanford Mission Essential Services Contract (HMESC) on December 5, 2019 as part of HMIS, LLC. This DOE contract includes the infrastructure and site services necessary to accomplish critical waste management and the continued environmental cleanup of the Hanford Site in southeastern Washington. Other HMIS members include Leidos Integrated Technology, LLC and Parsons Government Services, Inc. The single award, indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity, cost-plus-award-fee contract has a five-year base period of performance followed by one three-year option period and a final option period of two years, at an approximate value of $4 billion, if all options are exercised.

The Hanford Site was established during World War II to produce plutonium and in 1964 began producing energy as well. The DOE took over control of the site in 1977 and in 1989 began formal cleanup procedures that continue today.

Centerra and HMIS partners are tasked with providing essential services such as training, security, emergency services, vital infrastructure maintenance and future infrastructure development for the operations of the Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. HMIS will also be administering small business prime contracts in accordance with the contract.
