DESCRIPTION:\nDuration: 2 Days\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis course will inform the concerned citizen on methods of protecting the home front. Students will receive classroom instruction and will engage in shoot/no-shoot, force-on-force realistic scenarios based on actual events that have occurred, and where their decision-making process will be explored and tested. This is not a basic firearms course, but rather provides training for the time when use of a firearm becomes the only option.\n\n\n\nThe course is designed to make students more aware of personal security whether at home or away, and increase awareness of considerations in protecting self and family members.\n\n\n\nTopics\n\n\n\n\nUse of force\n\n\n\nSecurity of firearms at home and away\n\n\n\nAway-from-home considerations\n\n\n\nGear and firearms\n\n\n\nMindset and indications of mental state\n\n\n\nBasic room-clearing techniques for the homeowner\n\n\n\nForce-on-force scenarios\n\n\n\nBallistic protection at home and away\n\n\n\nDealing with the police\n\n\n\n\npre-Requisites\n\n\n\n\nCurrent, valid carry permit with drivers license –or-\n\n\n\nCurrent law enforcement ID –or-\n\n\n\nCompletion of a Background Check with drivers license https://www.sentrylink.com/\n\n\n\n\nGear requirement\n\n\n\n\nBelt\n\n\n\nFlashlight\n\n\n\nEar protection\n\n\n\nClothing appropriate for climate and conditions\n\n\n\nRain gear\n\n\n\nA water bottle or other hydration system\n\n\n\nCover garment for concealed draw is highly recommended\n\n\n\n\nMethod of instruction\n\n\n\nThis course is taught using 25 percent classroom lecture and 75 percent practical instruction.\n\n\n\nSkill Prerequisites\n\n\n\nBasic pistol marksmanship/familiarization course. This is not a marksmanship course. Handling skills are required prior to attending class.\n
