DESCRIPTION:\nDuration: 2 Days\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nThis course is for the woman who is unfamiliar with firearms procedures, or needs to develop safe firearm-handling and a solid foundation of shooting skills. Each student will learn the basic fundamentals of shooting and how they apply to accuracy. Participants will learn how to identify types of malfunctions and the logical steps to efficiently correct them. The student will be shown and then practice the movement for drawing the firearm from the holster to presentation, including from concealment. This small class has a maximum student-to-instructor ratio of 6:1, making it easier for women to discuss concerns about various topics such as hand strength, style of handgun, safe carry and storage of a pistol.\n\n\n\nStudents will learn safe firearm-handling and basic shooting skills.\n\n\n\nTopics\n\n\n\n\nFirearms and range safety\n\n\n\nCleaning and maintenance\n\n\n\nMindset/condition of readiness\n\n\n\nFundamentals of shooting a pistol\n\n\n\nGear and firearm selection\n\n\n\nDraw/concealed draw\n\n\n\nManipulations Malfunctions\n\n\n\n\npre-Requisites\n\n\n\n\nCurrent, valid carry permit with drivers license –or-\n\n\n\nCurrent law enforcement ID –or-\n\n\n\nCompletion of a Background Check with drivers license https://www.sentrylink.com/\n\n\n\n\nAmmunition requirement\n\n\n\n\n800 rounds.  9mm (9×9) is the minimum service caliber for this course.\n\n\n\n\nGear requirement\n\n\n\n\nPistol\n\n\n\nHolster\n\n\n\nMinimum three high-capacity (15+ round) magazines or six low-capacity (7-8 round) magazines\n\n\n\nMagazine holders\n\n\n\nBelt\n\n\n\nClear wraparound ballistic eye protection\n\n\n\nEar protection\n\n\n\nBaseball-style hat\n\n\n\nRain gear\n\n\n\nFirearm cleaning kit\n\n\n\nClothing appropriate for climate and conditions\n\n\n\nCover shirt or other garment for concealed draw\n\n\n\nA water bottle or other hydration system\n\n\n\nNo cross-draw or appendix-carry holsters\n\n\n\n\nMethod of instruction\n\n\n\nThis class is taught with 40 percent classroom instruction and 60 percent practical application on the range.\n\n\n\nSkill Prerequisites\n\n\n\nNone.\n
